A&O 2020 final presentation and rationale for format

Your paper should represent, as far as possible, the collaboration of scientific scholarship about, and aesthetic representation of, your main topic. BOTH contribute to insight and should be at least explored. Any paper might represent these variables in varying proportions, but all areas should be at least touched upon.

 

TITLE

TOPIC followed by your name & situation (student at what stage), your department; date; class or project for which the paper is prepared)

INTRODUCTION

General area you wish to write about and why it is (or should be) interesting to your prospective readers

DEFINITIONS

A formal definition from a shared resource such as dictionary or a detailed description of key terms that may not be obvious to prospective readers

PRINCIPLE FOCUS

Specific TOPIC (within the general area you described in the INTRODUCTION)

BIOLOGY:  DEEP ETHOLOGY

(identify behavior that is important to you TOPIC; then comment on how DEEP perspectives affect or are affected by that behavior)

     DEVELOPMENT

speak to when in an individual’s experience some critical attribute is experienced

     ECOLOGY

speak to the physical or biotic environment influences or is influenced by your topic

     EVOLUTION

How has ancestry (genes or memes) affected the expression of behavior related to your TOPIC?

     PHYSIOLOGY

(What physiological influences (nervous or endocrine systems) affect the expression of behavior related to your topic?) (e.g., senses, brain, neuro-muscular action-systems, stress)

ART

How does your topic affect or been affected by some form(s) of ART in ways that might enhance your prospective reader’s understanding? Use examples.
