DOODLING
The ethos that is represented by my encouragement of doodling while you take notes is implicit in this frame from Nick Soustanis, UNFLATTENING:
I am NOT encouraging you to take your notes in graphic form of comics, BUT I believe that when it is comfortable for you, you would likely find that different levels of cognitive organization are more fully bridged.
(later we may learn that ASIAN CALLIGRAPHY enjoys some the conceptual grounding here … which may help explain the evolutionary transition from calligraphy to landscape painting in traditional Chinese art history.)
